Role Overview

We are excited to offer an apprenticeship opportunity for an aspiring Nursery Practitioner. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to start a rewarding career in early years education. As an Apprentice Nursery Practitioner, you will gain hands-on experience while working towards a recognized childcare qualification. You will support the day-to-day care of children, learn from experienced professionals, and contribute to creating a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Childcare and Development: Assist in the care and supervision of children, ensuring their safety, well-being, and developmental needs are met. Support children’s learning through play and planned activities under the guidance of qualified practitioners.
  • Personal Care: Help with the personal care needs of children, including feeding, changing, and toilet training, while maintaining hygiene standards.
  • Learning and Development: Participate in planning and delivering age-appropriate activities that promote children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Observation and Record Keeping: Assist in observing and recording children’s progress and development. Help maintain accurate and up-to-date records under the supervision of qualified staff.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with your colleagues to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all children. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance your learning and development.
  • Safeguarding: Adhere to Bright Beams Day Nurseries’ safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and welfare of all children in your care.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Entry Requirements: No formal qualifications are required for this role, but a genuine passion for working with young children and a commitment to completing your apprenticeship is essential.
  • Learning and Development: Willingness to work towards a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education.
  • Personal Qualities: Friendly, caring, and patient, with a positive attitude towards learning and personal development. Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Safeguarding: A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Working Hours

  • Full-Time Role: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
