We are open Monday to Friday from 8AM to 6PM, 48 weeks a year. We close for two weeks over summer, two weeks at Christmas, Bank Holidays, and 4 Inset Days for staff training.
Yes, we welcome non-funded children. Sessions are charged at our private rates, and we require a minimum booking of two full days per week.
Children must bring a healthy packed lunch. If you’re not paying for consumables, you’ll also need to provide snacks, nappies, wipes, creams, and sun cream.
You’ll need to check eligibility and apply via Childcare Choices. Once you receive your code, we’ll guide you through the next steps.
We ask parents to commit to a fixed schedule each term. Changes can be made at the start of a new term, subject to availability.
We offer both Term Time (38 weeks) and Stretched (48 weeks) funding models for eligible families. This applies to children aged 9 months and above, depending on your eligibility status.
Children aged 9 months, 2, and 3–4 years may be entitled to 15 hours per week (570 hours per year). Eligible working parents of 3–4 year olds may receive up to 30 hours per week (1,140 hours per year). These can be stretched across the year or used during term time.
Term Time funding gives you 15 or 30 hours per week over 38 weeks. Stretched funding distributes these hours across 48 weeks, offering fewer hours per week (12 or 24), but more consistent year-round attendance.
Yes, you can extend your child’s day with additional hours. For example, an early drop-off (8AM–9AM) or a later pick-up (after 4:30PM or 5PM) can be added for an additional fee.
Funded hours cover education and care, but do not include snacks, meals, nappies, creams, or other consumables. These are charged separately unless you provide them yourself.
We offer full-day sessions (8AM–6PM) and part-day sessions (8AM-1PM, 1PM-6PM) and a variety of mixed sessions within funded limits. Funded sessions vary depending on whether you use the term-time or stretched model. More information on this can be found on the 'Sessions' area of our website.
A full day includes care and learning between 8AM and 6PM. Snacks and breakfast are optional extras, and parents must provide lunch.
We welcome all children and support those with additional needs. We may adapt sessions or attendance times through consultation with parents, especially if Inclusion Funding is in place.
Yes, if your preferred days are full, you can join our waiting list. Places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

They cover snacks, drinks, nappies, wipes, and sun cream. Parents who do not pay this charge must provide all of these themselves.
Children attending from 8AM can have breakfast with us for a small fee, or parents can provide their own food.
No, all children must bring a healthy packed lunch each day.
Yes, but you’ll need to bring everything your child would otherwise receive, including snacks, nappies, and creams.
If these aren’t provided and you haven’t paid the consumables fee, unfortunately your child won’t be able to attend that day.
We offer a gentle, phased settling-in process tailored to each child. This usually involves short initial visits with a parent or carer, followed by gradual increases in independent time to help your child feel secure and confident.
Every child is different. Some may settle in a few days, others may take longer. We work closely with families to ensure a smooth and supportive transition at a pace that suits your child.
Yes. We encourage parents to stay during the initial visits if their child needs reassurance. Our staff will guide you on when to start stepping back based on your child’s comfort and development.
This is common during early transitions. Our staff are highly trained to comfort and support children during these moments, and we’ll keep you informed through our Famly app so you feel reassured.
We often offer a pre-visit at the setting and can arrange a virtual or phone introduction beforehand if preferred. This helps us get to know your child and for you to ask any questions before their first day.
We use the Famly platform to keep you fully updated. It allows you to receive daily updates, photos, messages, accident reports, invoices, and more—all from your phone or tablet.
Yes. You can message your child’s key person or the management team securely through the Famly app. We aim to respond promptly during working hours.
You’ll get updates on meals, naps, toileting, learning activities, and general wellbeing, as well as occasional photos or videos of your child’s day.
All documents, policies, term dates, and invoices are accessible through the Famly app under your child’s profile.
Yes. If your child is unwell or has an accident, you’ll receive an instant notification through Famly, followed by a call from a staff member if necessary.
Bright Beams (Billacombe Road) is equipped with a comprehensive security system including outdoor CCTV, indoor CCTV, profile mesh fencing, fire and intruder alarms, and secure intercom access systems at both the front and back gates.
All visitors must use our video intercom systems to request entry. Staff can see and speak to them before granting access. Only authorised individuals are allowed entry, and children will never be released without confirmation.
Yes. Our outdoor areas are surrounded by profile mesh security fencing which prevents both unauthorised access and children from leaving the premises unnoticed.
Absolutely. We have fire alarms, regular fire drills, and full emergency protocols. All staff are trained in fire safety, evacuation procedures, and first aid.
