Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner (Level 2) to join our team on a full-time basis. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day care and education of children within our nursery, ensuring that each child’s individual needs are met in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Childcare and Development: Provide high-quality care and education, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Support children’s learning and development through planned activities, play, and creative experiences.
  • Child Supervision: Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being. Engage children in stimulating and age-appropriate activities that promote their physical, emotional, and social development.
  • Personal Care: Attend to children’s personal needs, including feeding, changing, and supporting toilet training. Ensure a clean, hygienic, and safe environment for all children.
  • Communication: Build positive relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on their child’s progress and daily activities. Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure consistent care for all children.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other team members to create a supportive and inclusive environment. Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of children’s development and progress, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and complies with nursery policies.
  • Safeguarding: Follow Bright Beams Day Nurseries’ safeguarding policies and procedures to protect the welfare of all children. Report any concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Level 2 Childcare Qualification: Recognized qualification in Early Years or Childcare (e.g., NVQ Level 2, CACHE Level 2, or equivalent).
  • Experience: Previous experience working in a nursery or childcare setting is preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of the EYFS framework and child development principles.
  • Personal Qualities: Enthusiastic, caring, and patient with a genuine passion for working with young children. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Safeguarding: Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Working Hours

  • Full-Time Role: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
  • Part Time Roles also available.
